La Jolla Heights is a completely residential neighborhood in the northern region of La Jolla, positioned between La Jolla Village and La Jolla Shores, it offers a great safe and sound place for families as there are no commercial buildings or businesses. This neighborhood is made up of luxurious, high-end homes in the $4-$5 million price range, as well reasonably priced and smaller homes and townhomes under $1 million. La Jolla Heights is noted for its remarkable ocean views, peaceful tree-lined roads, and easy access to the 52 and 5 Freeways. This neighborhood’s housing heterogeneity dates back to the fact that it was originally intended to be used as residences for UCSD professors back in the day, as La Jolla Heights is located within very close proximity to the University of California San Diego. Most homes in La Jolla Heights were built in the 1960s, but many have been beautifully remodeled since.

La Jolla Heights lifestyle is a favorite amongst residents. Here, you can find the Dan McKinney Family YMCA, which is a community-focused nonprofit established in 1844 with recreational programs and services for all ages. La Jolla Heights is close to the village and the Shores where families can play at the beach, surf, visit Birch aquarium, or catch a play at the world-renowned La Jolla Playhouse, located on UCSD’s campus, and shop and dine at UTC Mall. Children who live in La Jolla Heights will attend Torrey Pines Elementary, Muirlands Middle School, and La Jolla High School. There are also many great private schools in the neighborhood. Private school options for an elementary school in La Jolla are All Hallows Academy, Children’s School, Evans School, Gillespie School, La Jolla Country Day, and Stella Maris.
