Lets talk about where the trails are in San Diego. There are 5 very popular walking trails for everyone’s daily use. These trails also have some incredible views once you are on site. The top walking trails will be listed in order of difficulty. Hiking is something that some people have to really work at being good. Hiking involves good breathing, stretching, and being in a good health, all very important to your hiking experience. The toughest popular hiking trail is Mount Woodson. It’s length is about 6 1/2 miles. What makes it so hard is that it is very steep and has very few breaks. But once you reach the top, the view is breathtaking. Also, you get to take one of those infamous photos atop “potato chip rock”. The next would be Cowles Mountain. It can definitely get pretty busy at this hike. It is recommended that you make it an early start. But this hike it definitely a great combination of difficult and doable. Next up is Iron Mountain. Iron Mountain is a little less than 6 miles. Located in Poway, it is the perfect hike for the average person and is definitely a great workout! Then there is Los Penasquitos Canyon. It is a great hike to do in groups of people, it’s pretty easy and relatively flat. It leads you through a large area that looks almost like a park with some waterfalls, rivers and beautiful views. Last up would be Torrey Pines State Reserve. What it nice about this hike is that once you get up there it gives you a couple options of paths you can take.
